m. What types of generators are used?
Diesel generators are longer lasting than their gasoline-powered counterparts and can be run about 12,000 hours before requiring service. They require a larger upfront monetary investment. A gas-powered generator is less expensive, but usually needs servicing after about 6,000 hours. Water-cooled gas generators (unit has a radiator, like a car) are the most common models installed.
The chassis engine should be the same as the generator to avoid confusion and costly mistake at re-fuel time.
(Gas engine = gas generator, and diesel engine = diesel generator)
