c. Can we get technical support and training from the manufacturer?
Someone will need to provide training in troubleshooting and simple repairs. Before final selection of the vehicle manufacturer, ask companies the following questions:
Have they identified companies in your area to provide warranty work for all systems (chassis, generator, HVAC, etc.) on board?
- Does the manufacturer have staff service personnel? These are staff who can talk to local service providers and work through issues that arise due to vehicle age or breakdowns. A person who understands and uses the mechanic's or electrician's terminology can minimize the amount of time the vehicle is out of service.
- Will their staff advise and help your staff get the proper license(s) to operate the vehicle? A written test is required to acquire a temporary CDL (commercial driver's license.) Dental professionals may need help with the terminology to understand and pass the CDL test.
