Position Summary:

Assist hygienist/program coordinator in school based dental sealant program.

Duties:

Set up treatment trays

Assist in tracking children and getting them from classrooms for dental exams and sealants

Load, unload, pack, unpack, breakdown and assemble portable dental equipment

Order, track and store supplies

Assist dental hygienist or dentist during treatment

Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment

Perform routine daily and weekly maintenance of equipment

Assist in the preparation and organization of patient charts

Assist in the recall and referral component of the Sealant Program

Prepare required reports

Record examination findings on patient charts

Perform related duties as needed

Dental Hygienist – Sealant Program Coordinator

Assistant Dental Director – City of Cincinnati Health Dept.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Graduate or equivalent

Formal dental assisting training or one year of dental assisting experience

Valid Ohio/Kentucky drivers' license

Required Skills:

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to communicate and interact with parents, children, school nurses, teachers and administrators from diverse cultural and racial backgrounds
